Day 2

We ventured out to the territory today and worked the town of Cheyene Wells.  It is really out in the middle nowhere.  It was really neat being able to see for miles around in all directions.  It was similar to being out in the middle of the ocean.  It even felt like the being at the ocean.  There were no trees, the sun was bright, no humidity and a light breeze.  Sometimes it even smelled like the beach with all the sand around.  We got about 1/2 the little town worked.  Most people were very nice.  Not too many outstanding experiences today though.

Something that's really cool is there are antelope out here!  They just wander around and are as many and common as our deer at home.  You'll see one or a group of them hanging out in field.  I don't have any pictures because they were always SOOOOO far away.  Even the trees out here are different.  There are alot of these medium sized, rough edgy looking trees around (where there are trees).  They told us that they are some kind of Russian somethin-or-other.  I'll try to get a good pic of them tomorrow.

Since everything is so flat, we could see all the storms in the area.  There would be big dark clouds with whispy ends where it was raining.  Yet it was sunny all around us.

This evening, we were invited over to some friends' house for dinner.  They had a cook out with hotdogs and hamburgers.  We just sat around outside on the patio and enjoyed the cooling, breezy evening.

All in all, very nice day.
